Photography that feels like your school.

Show the people, places and everyday moments that make your school distinctive.

Photography work for schools

A useful, joined-up service

Photography designed around your school.

Simon brings an observant, human approach to school photography. We plan around the story you want to tell, then capture authentic images that can work across your website, prospectus, campaigns and social channels.

What we can help with

From the first idea
to the finished thing.

We work with your team, your audience and the reality of school life.

We can shape a practical shot plan around your priorities

Natural images of learning, community and school life

A useful library of assets for your website and printed communications

Show the school people will recognise

Photography gives families a view of the people and experiences behind your school’s words. A classroom exchange, practical activity, performance or moment in the playground can communicate something that a building photograph alone cannot. We plan the shoot around the story you need to tell and the channels where the pictures will appear.

We consider the range of school life you want to represent: learning, pastoral care, facilities, activities and the wider community. Your team knows the timetable, pupils and staff, so their input is central to a useful plan. A prepared schedule makes it easier to capture a varied set of images within the school day.

Build a library with more than one use

A website hero, a prospectus spread and a portrait-shaped banner need different compositions. We discuss those uses before the shoot, so the image library can support the agreed layouts and future communications. It is useful to think about both the headline photographs and the smaller supporting moments that help explain everyday school life.

Consent and safeguarding arrangements need to be clear before photographing pupils. Your school identifies who can be photographed and how staff will communicate any restrictions during the session. We agree the shoot arrangements, intended uses and handover requirements with you, rather than treating permission to take an image as permission to use it everywhere.

The practical detail

A useful brief.
A clear scope.

We’ll agree what your project or support package includes before the work starts.

A purposeful shot plan

Identify the school story, key activities, spaces and people needed for the agreed communications.

Planning around the school day

Discuss lesson timings, locations, staff contacts and how the session can fit the working day.

Images for different formats

Consider wide, portrait and detail compositions for websites, print and other agreed channels.

A practical image handover

Agree the selection, file formats and intended usage so the photographs can be put to work by the right colleagues.

How it works

A clear path
through your project.

We agree the stages, responsibilities and review points around your brief.

  1. Plan together

Confirm the purpose, locations, timetable and school contact. Agree how consent restrictions will be managed and which staff will support the shoot.

  2. Capture school life

Work through the agreed shot plan with room for natural moments. Check that the key activities and compositions needed for the brief are covered.

  3. Select and prepare

Prepare the agreed selection for handover and intended uses. Connect the images with any website, prospectus or campaign work in the same project.

Before you start

Good questions.
Practical answers.

Every school brief is different. These are useful starting points for our first conversation.

Can we commission photography without a new website?

Yes, photography can be discussed as a standalone project. Tell us what you need the pictures for, whether that is an existing website, a publication or a wider set of communications.

How do pupil consent arrangements work?

Your school confirms the permissions and restrictions that apply and identifies pupils who must not appear. We agree the practical arrangements with your nominated contact before the shoot. Specific usage and safeguarding requirements should be part of that discussion.

What makes a useful brief?

Share the intended formats, the areas of school life you want to show, any essential shots and the dates available. Existing layouts can help us plan compositions. We then agree the session, selection and delivery requirements.
